Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-11-01
This policy explains what Spooned collects when you use Spooned and how it is used. We don’t sell your personal information.
What we collect
- Account: a random device identifier; if you sign in with Apple or Google, your provider user id and email (Apple may give us a private relay address) and the name you choose to share.
- Profile: first and last name, @handle, bio and photo, which are public.
- Content: links you import and the resulting recipes, cookbooks, grocery list, meal plan, votes, likes, saves, follows, comments, videos, reports and blocks.
- Purchases: subscription status from RevenueCat / the app stores (we never see your card details).
- Device: push notification token, and basic technical logs (IP address, timestamps, errors) kept for security and debugging.
How we use it
To run the Service (import recipes, sync your library, show the community and feed), to send notifications you enabled (e.g. when an import finishes), to keep the community safe (moderation, abuse prevention), and to process subscriptions.
Service providers
We use DigitalOcean (hosting, database, file storage), Groq (processing captions and audio from posts you import, to extract recipes), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Expo (push notifications), and Apple/Google (sign-in). They process data only on our behalf.
What’s public
Your profile, recipes you share publicly, videos and comments are visible to other users and on share links.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. Delete your account in Settings → Delete account to permanently remove it, including uploaded videos and photos; backups roll off within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you can access, correct, export or delete your data and object to processing. Contact [email protected].
Children
Spooned isn’t directed to children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
